AmeriHealth Caritas Contributes $100,000 in Support of Hope Florida’s Mission to Guide Florida Families to Prosperity

Posted on April 17, 2023

Collaboration will help Florida families create a brighter future for themselves

AmeriHealth Caritas announced it has donated $100,000 to Hope Florida – A Pathway to Prosperity. The initiative, which is led by Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis and implemented by the Florida Department of Children and Families, helps Floridians overcome barriers and achieve goals to reach prosperity. The contribution helped the initiative expand from a regional effort to one that benefits the entire state.

AmeriHealth Caritas is a national leader in Medicaid managed care and other health care solutions for those most in need. The organization’s donation will help Hope Florida provide education and resources to benefit Florida’s children who are aging out of foster care, pregnant mothers contending with substance use disorders, and families who need assistance.

The program connects individuals in need with a “Hope Navigator” who helps them identify goals and barriers, refers them to local community-based partners, and provides one-on-one support to help them develop a plan for economic self-sufficiency. Through this donation, AmeriHealth Caritas aims to help individuals achieve wellness and resilience so they can reach their American Dream.

“AmeriHealth Caritas is dedicated to making high-quality, compassionate care accessible to Floridians while also supporting and improving local communities,” said AmeriHealth Caritas Regional President Kathy Warner. “Hope Florida has helped so many families achieve prosperity and economic self-sufficiency, and we’re proud to support this program and help even more Floridians in need live healthier, happier lives.”

Warner said this effort helps to support shared goals, as both AmeriHealth Caritas and Hope Florida place special focus on serving low-income Floridians and ensuring that they have access to the resources they need to achieve their full potential.
