The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Releases New Strategic Plan

The Pathway to Impact Report Highlights Juvenile Justice
System Successes and Unveils Priorities for the Future

The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) today released its newly published strategic plan, Pathway to Impact, which highlights the achievements of Florida’s juvenile justice system while outlining a path forward to enhance public safety and provide high-impact, high-value opportunities and services to Florida’s youth and families.

“The Pathway to Impact report is the culmination of the successes Florida’s juvenile justice system has achieved and the goals and objectives we have moving forward in our latest transformative phase of excellence,” said DJJ Secretary Eric Hall. “Through constant system innovation and enhancement, we continue to raise the bar and push towards consistently better outcomes for the youth and families we serve while creating stronger, safer communities.”

In addition to presenting an evidence-based blueprint for Florida’s juvenile justice system and DJJ’s priorities moving forward, the Pathway to Impact report identifies two primary objectives in this next phase of system excellence: to prevent juvenile justice system contact for Florida’s youth and reduce recidivism for youth that already have juvenile justice system involvement. To achieve these objectives, Pathway to Impact is centered on four cornerstones of service excellence which include building a world-class talented team that ensures a culture of excellence, implementing evidence-based practices, utilizing data-informed decision-making, and emphasizing youth achievement and post-secondary success.

The full Pathway to Impact report can be viewed here.
