House Bills 33 and 35: Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact and Public Rec. and Meetings/Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact sponsored by Representative Christine Hunschofsky (D-Parkland) and Representative Traci Koster (R-Tampa) expanding telehealth laws for psychologists to ensure continued care across state lines passed the Florida House of Representatives today.
“The compact is an important step in providing the ability for our college students to continue their mental health care with their trusted mental health professional once they leave home,” said Representative Hunschofsky (D-Parkland). “That is one of the major benefits of this bill, in addition to more opportunity for access to quality mental health care for Floridians.”
“We are experiencing a shortage of qualified mental health professionals across the state of Florida. My hope is that HB 33 and HB 35 will serve to address this shortage and help families who desperately need access to care,” said Representative Koster.
