LeadingAge Florida, Florida’s only association representing the entire continuum of care for older adults, issued a statement following the passage of HB 1573. The bill now goes to the Senate to be heard on the floor.
The following statement is attributable to President and CEO Steve Bahmer.
“We are grateful to Representative Jenna Persons-Mulicka and the Florida House of Representatives for their support and recognition of continuing care/life plan communities as an important part of our state’s retirement portfolio. This legislation will help ensure the future viability and financial strength of these communities and help make them available to an even greater number of seniors. We are also grateful to our partners at the Florida Life Care Residents Association (FLiCRA) for their collaboration in helping to ensure a broad array of retirement options are available to Florida seniors.”
For 60 years, LeadingAge Florida has been the state’s leading advocate for high-quality senior living, aging services and care. We are the only statewide association representing the full continuum of care for seniors. The Association provides up-to-date regulatory information, a wide variety of educational opportunities, representation before the Legislature and government agencies, group purchasing services, and opportunities for networking with peers to help member communities best serve the needs of Florida’s senior population.
