The Florida State University Police Department has arrested a 17-year-old juvenile male in connection to the shooting that took place in the DeGraff Hall parking lot, 808 W. Tennessee Street, on the morning of April 29, 2023.
In the hours following the shooting, police investigators learned the victim was in a dispute with the suspect. The suspect, along with several others, began physically attacking the victim. The suspect brandished a handgun and began shooting, striking the victim. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.
Investigators developed probable cause and obtained warrants for two counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder. The suspect is being held in the Leon County Juvenile Detention Facility. The suspect, who is not affiliated with FSU, is not being identified because they are a juvenile.
