DEP’s Northwest District Announces Earth Day Poster Contest Winners

Posted on May 8, 2023

In celebration of Earth Day, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Northwest District invited 4th through 12th grade students in the district’s 16-county area to creatively illustrate this year’s theme, “Invest in Our Planet.”

“I am proud to announce the winners of the Northwest District 2023 Earth Day Poster Contest,” said DEP Northwest District Director Elizabeth Orr. “The posters submitted were a testament to the incredible creativity and dedication of these young artists and their commitment to promoting environmental awareness. We hope that these posters will inspire people of all ages to invest in our planet and work toward protecting and conserving Florida’s natural resources.”

The posters were judged on how well they portray the Earth Day theme, artistic merit, originality and neatness. Winners were presented with a certificate and a Florida State Parks pass.
