Nominations due Aug. 11, 2023
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Southeast District office is accepting nominations for its Environmental Stewardship Achievement Award Program, which recognizes those who are working alongside the department in Protecting Florida Together by safeguarding the state’s natural resources and enhancing its ecosystems.
The district’s awards program is open to Florida businesses, industries, professional and community organizations, and local governments located within Broward, Indian River, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Okeechobee, Palm Beach and St. Lucie counties.
To be considered for recognition, participants must demonstrate proactive, innovative and measurable achievements that exceed regulatory requirements and provide a direct benefit to our environment in one or more of the following categories:
- Reducing environmental impacts.
- Conserving resources.
- Enhancing ecosystems.
- Remediating environmental impacts.
Additional criteria that will be considered:
- An organizational culture of environmental stewardship.
- Continuous improvement and growth of environmental programs.
- Environmental education and outreach components.
- Innovation and exceptional achievement in environmental stewardship.
Nominations:
- Completed nomination forms must be submitted.
- Optional supporting documents demonstrating environmental stewardship efforts are limited to 10 pages and can be emailed to [email protected].
- Nominations must be received by close of business Friday, Aug. 11, 2023.
The winner will be recognized at the Southeast District’s annual Open House on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023, at 3301 Gun Club Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33406.
