State Senator Rosalind Osgood (D-Tamarac) and State Representative Lisa Dunkley (D-Sunrise) will host a post-session town hall meeting, inviting constituents to discuss and address important issues from the 2023 Florida Legislative Session. This event will provide an opportunity for residents, local elected officials and community members to voice their concerns, ask questions, and contribute to an open dialogue regarding legislative priorities.
The town hall will take place on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 6pm in the Village Civic Center, 6800 Sunset Strip, Sunrise, FL 33313.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from both Senator Osgood and Representative Dunkley on the issues that affect their communities and ask questions. The town hall will focus on a variety of topics including permit-less carry of firearms, immigration, elections, insurance, and other issues that are important to the citizens of Broward County.
“Hosting a town hall is a powerful testament to my commitment as an elected official to hear and address the concerns of the people I represent. It is an opportunity to have open dialogue and understanding. Through the intimate setting of a town hall, I can have meaningful exchanges with my constituents that reassures the principle that government is by the people, for the people,” said Senator Osgood.
“I look forward to this town hall to provide my constituents another opportunity to engage with me directly and ask questions regarding the bills passed during Session. It is important that our community has this opportunity to get the answers they need from their elected officials and prepare themselves for the effects of some of these new laws. Please join us next Thursday to benefit from the information and resources we plan to share,” said Representative Dunkley.
