FDOT Hosting Road Construction Career Fair

The Oviedo Operations Center for the Florida Department of Transportation is hosting a career fair highlighting all road construction careers, from design to construction, utility adjustments, maintenance, and more. This event is focused on connecting job seekers and small businesses with active construction contractors and community resources.

The career fair will be held on the grounds of the Oviedo Operations Center, 2400 Camp Road, Oviedo, FL 32765, on Thursday, Aug. 17, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Those interested in a career in transportation are encouraged to attend, as various disciplines will be represented. Participating partners include Consor, Inwood Consulting Engineers, P&S Paving, Pi Consulting, AT&T, Spectrum, FDOT, Uniti Fiber, Ozmatic Inc., and the University of Central Florida Department of Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering.

Date: Thursday, Aug. 17, 2023
Time: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Place: Oviedo Operations Center (2400 Camp Road, Oviedo, FL 32765)
Cost: No cost for participation

The career fair will also include information about the resurfacing construction project on State Road (S.R.) 426 from Mystic Lake Drive/Starwood Drive to Eyrie Drive. The project corridor runs along S.R 426 outside the Oviedo Operations Center. Participants are asked to dress for career success and bring copies of their resumes. Participants should be aware that the event will be outdoors, and comfortable yet appropriate clothing should be worn.

The Department urges all drivers to stay alert and use caution while driving through or near construction zones. Remember to pay attention and follow the rules when driving, walking, or bicycling. Safety doesn’t happen by accident.
