The Florida Division of Emergency Management (Division) today announced FEMA has approved Charlotte and Hillsborough counties for Individual Assistance. Homeowners and renters who sustained losses from Hurricane Idalia in Charlotte and Hillsborough counties may now apply for FEMA Individual Assistance, including financial help for temporary lodging, basic home repairs and other disaster related expenses.
“The Division remains committed to making resources available for those recovering from Hurricane Idalia,” said Division Executive Director Kevin Guthrie. “I urge impacted residents in Charlotte and Hillsborough counties to start their FEMA application as soon as possible to ensure you don’t miss any deadlines for federal assistance.”
Charlotte and Hillsborough counties join Citrus, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Hernando, Jefferson, Lafayette, Levy, Madison, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Sarasota, Suwannee, and Taylor counties, which were previously approved for Individual Assistance.
To apply for FEMA disaster assistance, visit DisasterAssistance.gov, use the FEMA app for smartphones or call 800-621-3362. Lines are open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. local time, seven days a week.
