The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) is recognizing the Cocoa Housing Authority (CHA) as a PSC Helping Hand for their outreach assistance. CHA has enhanced the PSC’s ability to share information and raise awareness in Brevard County on utility-related scam protections, energy and water conservation, and the Lifeline Assistance telephone/broadband discount program.
“We appreciate Cocoa Housing Authority’s educational outreach partnership,” said PSC Chairman Andrew Giles Fay. “Our PSC Helping Hand recognition is a way to highlight CHA for their assistance in achieving our efforts to reach Brevard County residents.”
Through PSC Helping Hand partnerships, the Commission shares information with consumers to help them avoid scams and stretch their resources to better meet monthly bills. The PSC is also able to provide our “Where to Find Help in Florida” publication, a resource on many social service programs, as well as our children’s activity book, “Get Wise and Conserve, Florida!”
“We thank the PSC for this Helping Hand recognition,” said CHA Executive Director Shauna Ginn. “With the use of PSC publication resources, CHA is able to provide valuable information to our residents, as well as, educational materials that make learning about conservation and hurricane safety, fun for our resident children.”
