As we mark the solemn occasion of the sixth anniversary of the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Representative Dan Daley (D-Coral Springs), a 2008 alumnus of MSD and a former member of the Coral Springs City Commission, pauses to reflect on the profound impact of that day and the resilience of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas community.
“Today marks the sixth anniversary of the shooting at my alma mater, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about that day, the victims, their families, or what we must do to make sure it never happens again. I do not believe that a community ever truly “heals” from something like this, but we must work each day, in memory of those we lost, to ensure future generations are protected. Thinking of Alyssa Alhadeff, Scott Beigel, Martin Duque Anguiano, Nicholas Dworet, Aaron Feis, Jaime Guttenberg, Chris Hixon, Luke Hoyer, Cara Loughran, Gina Montalto, Joaquin Oliver, Alaina Petty, Meadow Pollack, Helena Ramsay, Alex Schachter, Carmen Schentrup, and Peter Wang today and every day,” stated Representative Dan Daley.
