Representative Kristen Arrington’s (D- Kissimmee) legislation to require homeowners’ associations (HOAs) to provide copies of association rules and covenants to every member and to every new member thereafter by a specified date has passed the Florida House of Representatives today. HB 59 requires HOAs to be more transparent with their residents regarding rules and regulations.
“This legislation is incredibly important to the people of Florida. Homeowners’ associations are a big part of our communities and it is vital to ensure that residents in HOAs are well-protected. I am immensely grateful that we are able to deliver this critical legislation back to our communities and to finally see this legislation pass the House floor. I especially want to thank Senator Linda Stewart (D-Orlando) for not only sponsoring the Senate version of the bill (SB 50), but for bringing me onto this legislation on the ground floor,” said Representative Arrington.
HB 59 has passed the House floor unanimously and will head to the Senate floor for the final passage vote.
