On Monday, a federal appeals court rejected DeSantis’ controversial “Stop WOKE Act” restrictions on workplace diversity training. Florida Senator Shevrin Jones (D-Miami Gardens) released the following statement:
DeSantis’ ‘war on woke’ failed to help his run for president and now it’s failing in the courts, before Trump-appointed judges no less. This is a clear win for the First Amendment and yet another major blow for the Governor and his allies in the Legislature who have pegged their whole agenda to attacking Floridians’ fundamental rights and freedoms. People across the state are sick and tired of Republicans’ political theater and endless distractions from their lack of solutions and plans to address the issues impacting our families and communities.
