This month, the Florida Lottery (Lottery) joins the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) to acknowledge the significance of problem gambling. Throughout March, our focus is on raising awareness about the available prevention, treatment, and recovery services for those impacted by gambling.
“At the Florida Lottery, we recognize the importance of ensuring that playing our games remains a form of entertainment within healthy limits. We are committed to working diligently each day to raise awareness about responsible play practices and to provide valuable resources for our players,” Florida Lottery Secretary John F. Davis said. “By actively promoting awareness and offering support, we aspire to empower players to make informed choices, play within their means, and enjoy the playing experience responsibly.”
Lottery games are designed to be an enjoyable form of entertainment for adults, with the added benefit of generating additional revenue for Florida’s students and schools. The Lottery encourages responsible play by following these tips designed to help players make informed decisions throughout their Lottery playing experience:
- NEVER think of the Lottery as a way to make money.
- ALWAYS set a budget and play within your means.
- NEVER chase your losses.
- ALWAYS know when to ask for help.
- NEVER play when you are upset or depressed.
The Lottery continues to build responsible play best practices into all aspects of its operations. For more information, visit www.floridalottery.com/play-responsibly.
