PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. – Palm Beach County traffic will be affected this week by ongoing construction projects and maintenance work, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) officials report. Closures will be in effect on I-95 and in other areas throughout Palm Beach County for construction activities. Please note, that any full road, ramp, or bridge closures have been highlighted below.

CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

INTERSTATE 95

 

1. Belvedere Road Improvements at the I-95 Northbound On/Off-Ramp Connection

Description: Project improvements consist of adding a second right-turn lane on the SR 9/I-95 northbound exit ramp to eastbound Belvedere Road, widening, milling, resurfacing and adding a paved shoulder to the existing SR 9/I-95 northbound exit ramp to Belvedere Road, installing new mast arms assemblies and pedestrian countdown signals, implementing a Wrong Way Driving Countermeasure System, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) upgrades, new sidewalk construction on the south side of Belvedere Road from the exit ramp to eastern project limits, new signalization, lighting, curbs, gutter and drainage improvements, new fencing and sod installation. Cost/Completion: $2.4 million. Completion is expected in Summer 2024.

Traffic Impact:

• The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from Belvedere Road may have one inside lane closed daily, 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and nightly, 9:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
• Belvedere Road at I-95 may have one outside lane closed in each direction, daily 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and nightly, 9:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

2. SR 9/I-95 at SR 786/PGA Boulevard Southbound Entrance Ramps Project

Description: This 0.65-mile project in Palm Beach Gardens began on November 9, 2022. Improvements consist of reconfiguring the I-95 southbound entrance ramps at PGA Boulevard. The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from westbound PGA Boulevard to southbound I-95 will be converted from a merge lane to an additional, free-flowing lane. The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from eastbound PGA Boulevard to southbound I-95 will be reconfigured to become a merge lane. I-95 Traffic Impact:

• I-95 southbound will have up to 3 lanes closed nightly, as needed, 9 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, through Thursday, June 27.

Ramp Impact:

• The I-95 southbound entrance ramps from eastbound and westbound PGA Boulevard will be closed nightly as needed, 9 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, through Thursday, June 27, for roadway construction and paving operations. Traffic will be detoured to I-95 southbound via Military Trail and Northlake Boulevard.

3. SR 9/I-95 Northbound Off-Ramp at SR 706/Indiantown Road Improvements Project

Description: This 1.446-mile project in Jupiter began on October 30, 2023. Improvements consist of milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, re-aligning the SR 9/I-95 northbound to SR 706/Indiantown Road eastbound off-ramp to a new signalized intersection, lengthening the eastbound SR 706/Indiantown Road left turn lane to northbound SR 9/I-95, widening eastbound SR 706/Indiantown Road to provide an additional through lane and a buffered bike lane in various locations from the Florida Turnpike entrance to Central Boulevard, widening westbound SR 706/Indiantown Road to provide an additional through lane and a bike lane from 67th Road North to SR 9/I-95, widening the Indiantown Road Bridge over the C-18 canal in both directions to provide an additional through lane, upgrading Wrong-Way Driving Countermeasures on the SR 9/I-95 northbound and southbound exit ramps, upgrading Digital Message Sign (DMS) structures on westbound SR 706/Indiantown Road between Island Way and 67th Road N, widening the I-95 northbound and southbound on-ramp acceleration lane, installing sidewalk along eastbound SR 706/Indiantown Road from the Florida Turnpike entrance to Island Way, upgrading curb ramps to meet Americans with Disability Act (ADA) standards, installing patterned pavement crosswalks at Central Boulevard, upgrading drainage, signage, lighting, signalization and pavement markings and upgrading Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) throughout the project corridor. I-95 Traffic Impacts:

• No impacts anticipated.

Ramp Impacts:

• The SR 9/I-95 northbound exit ramp to eastbound SR 706/Indiantown Road will have one lane closed around-the-clock, through September 2024.

Indiantown Road Impact:

• The sidewalk on the south side of Indiantown Road from 68^th Terrace/Island Way to just west of Central Boulevard will be closed for sidewalk work through July 2024. Pedestrians heading east and west will be detoured at 67^th, 68^th and Central Boulevard. Access for pedestrians heading north and south will be maintained.
• The northbound lane of Island Way/68th Terrance North is closed through July 2024 for signalization improvements. Motorists will be allowed to make a left turn, thru, and right turns from the left turn lane.
• Up to two outside eastbound lanes of SR 706/Indiantown Road from the Turnpike on/off ramp intersection to Central Boulevard will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday. The first lane will close at 9 p.m. The second lane will close at 10 p.m. for striping activities.
• Up to two outside westbound lanes of SR 706/Indiantown Road from 67 Road N to the Turnpike on/off ramp intersection will be closed nightly from 9 pm until 6 am. Monday through Thursday. The first lane will close at 9 pm, and the second lane will close at 10 pm for road widening work.
• The eastbound right turn lane just east of 68th Street/Island Way is closed through July 2024 for road construction. Motorists will be allowed to make right turns from the outside through lane and access to businesses. 

 

SOUTHERN PALM BEACH COUNTY PROJECTS

(BOCA RATON, HIGHLAND BEACH, DELRAY BEACH)

4. Advanced Transportation Management System (ATMS) Project

Description: This 6-mile project from the Broward/Palm Beach County Line to SR 794/Yamato Road and SR 794/Yamato Road from SR 5/US 1 to SR 9/I-95 in the city of Boca Raton began on July 31, 2023. Work includes installing a new fiber optic network, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices, including Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) devices at eight (8) intersections on US 1 from Royal Palm Way to Spanish River Boulevard, upgrading the signal detection system, and upgrading the Advance Traffic Management System (ATMS) for compatibility with the Traffic Management Center (TMC). 5. SR 800/Spanish River Boulevard Over the Intracoastal Waterway (ICWW) Scour Countermeasures Project

Description: This 0.092-mile project on SR 800/Spanish River Boulevard over the Intracoastal Waterway (ICWW) in the City of Boca Raton began January 9, 2024. Work includes Installing Articulated Concrete Block (ACB) at the riverbed to protect the bridge foundations from erosion on the eastbound and westbound SR 800/Spanish River Boulevard bridges. For more information, please contact Community Outreach Manager Andrea Pacini at (561) 214-3358 or [email protected].

Cost/Completion: $2.1 million. Completion is expected in Fall 2024.

Traffic Impacts:

• The frontage road will have intermittent lane closures, daily as needed, 7 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, for debris removal activities. Flaggers will be on site to assist motorists.

Marine Impacts:

• Crews will be on site performing underwater debris removal outside of the navigable channel. No impacts to boaters are anticipated with this activity.
• Divers will be on site daily as needed performing underwater survey work – boaters, please use caution. No impact to the channel is anticipated with this activity.

6. SR A1A/South Ocean Boulevard Resurfacing Project

Description: This 3.349-mile project in the Town of Highland Beach and the City of Delray Beach began on May 29, 2024. The project improvements consist of milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, widening the roadway in each direction to provide five-foot bicycle lanes, modifying swales to improve drainage, and upgrading signing and pavement markings to meet current standards. For more information, contact Community Outreach Specialist Melissa Readling at 772-577-8803 or [email protected].

CENTRAL PALM BEACH COUNTY PROJECTS
(Boynton Beach, Lake Worth Beach, Royal Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach)

 

7.  Districtwide Rumble Strips Improvement Project

Description:  This 125-mile project along multiple roadway corridors within cities in Palm Beach and Broward Counties is anticipated to begin on June 9, 2024.  Work includes adding rumble strips and replacing pavement markings in 13 different roadway corridors within Palm Beach and Broward Counties. Cost/Completion: $654,155.45/Fall 2024

Traffic Impact: 

• One lane in each direction of SR 715/Bacom Point Road, from NW Avenue P to Loop Road, in Pahokee will be closed nightly from 7 p.m., Sunday, June 9 through 7 a.m., Monday, June 17 for rumble strip installations.

8. City of Boynton Beach Sidewalk and Bicycle Lane Improvements Project

Description: This .62-mile project on SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard and .7 miles on W Ocean Avenue in the City of Boynton Beach began on May 7, 2024. Work includes milling, resurfacing and reconstructing SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard within project limits, expanding the existing sidewalk on the south side of SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard to 15 feet and to 9 feet on the north side, performing drainage modifications to accommodate sidewalk expansion on SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard, retrofitting pedestrian lighting at signalized intersections on SR/804 Boynton Beach Boulevard, constructing a new pedestrian crossing at NW 3rd Street and SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard, installing shared lane bicycle markings (sharrows) in each direction of SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard and on West Ocean Avenue, and upgrading pedestrian signals, pavement markings, and signs. Cost/Completion: $7.2 million/Fall 2025

Traffic Impacts:

• One inside lane in each direction of SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard from just west of NW 3rd Street to US 1/Federal Highway and the dual-purpose center lanes will be closed for median construction through June 2024. Motorists will be able to make left turns at all intersections during peak hours.

 

9. SR 802/Lake Worth Road at Haverhill Road Intersection Improvement Project

Description: This 0.148-mile project from 500 feet east and west of the Haverhill Road intersection and along Haverhill Road from 300 feet south to 300 feet north of the SR 802/ Lake Worth Road intersection in the City of Greenacres began on February 6, 2024. Work includes milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, modifying the median to improve motorist safety, replacing the traffic signal mast arm structure located in the northeast corner of SR 802/Lake Worth Road and Haverhill Road, installing curb and gutter, sidewalk, driveways, and bus stop pads, improving pavement markings, signage, and signalization, upgrading pedestrian signals and curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Cost/Completion: $1.3 million/Summer 2024

Traffic Impacts:

• One outside lane in each direction on SR 802/Lake Worth Road between Broward Avenue and Dahl Drive will be closed intermittently from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, for minor widening, sidewalk, and signalization work through June 28.
• One outside lane in each direction on Haverhill Road approaching of SR 802/Lake Worth Road will be closed intermittently 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, for minor widening, sidewalk, and signalization work through June 28.

• Two lanes of SR 802/Lake Worth Road between Broward Avenue and Dahl Drive will be closed intermittently from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., from Sunday, June 9 through Thursday, June 13 for paving operations.

• One lane in each direction on Haverhill Road approaching of SR 802/Lake Worth Road will be closed intermittently from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., from Sunday, June 9 through Thursday, June 13 for paving operations.

10. SR 802/Lake Worth Road Improvements Project

Description: This 1.90-mile project from Raulerson Drive to Palm Beach State College Entrance/Douglas Drive in the city of Lake Worth Beach began on November 14, 2022.  Work includes constructing a new exclusive right turn lane from eastbound Lake Worth Road into the Mid-County Senior Center, installing new seven-foot bike lanes with upgraded safety features, milling and resurfacing Lake Worth Road in both directions, replacing underground Palm Beach County utilities throughout the project limits, improving sidewalk and driveways on both sides of Lake Worth Road, modifying medians to improve motorist safety, improving signalized intersections and pedestrian crossings, and installing new signage, pavement markings, and lighting. Traffic Impacts:

• Two eastbound lanes on Lake Worth Road from Raulerson Drive to Congress Avenue may be closed from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for force main construction, median construction, directional bore operations, and drainage work.
• Two westbound lanes on Lake Worth Road from Congress Avenue to Raulerson Drive may be closed from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for force main construction, median construction, directional bore operations, and drainage work.
• One lane in each direction on Lake Worth Road from Raulerson Drive to Douglas Drive may be closed for drainage operations and sidewalk replacement.
• Two eastbound lanes on Lake Worth Road from Raulerson Drive to Congress Avenue may be closed from 9 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Sunday through Friday, for drainage work.
• Two westbound lanes on Lake Worth Road from Congress Avenue to Raulerson Drive may be closed from 9 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Sunday through Friday, for drainage work.

11.   SR 802/Lake Worth Road Roundabout Pedestrian Safety Project on Behalf of the City of Lake Worth Beach

Description: This 0.5-mile project from Erie Street to A Street/Lucerne Avenue Roundabout and Lucerne Avenue to C Street, and Lake Osborne Drive from Griswold Drive to Erie Street in the City of Lake Worth Beach began on January 3, 2024.  Work includes milling and resurfacing existing travel lanes, constructing a six-foot wide sidewalk along the east side of Lake Osborne Drive, installing a raised crosswalk with signalization on Lucerne Avenue just east of N B Street, upgrading pedestrian signals and curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, and upgrading lighting along Lake Worth Road. Traffic Impacts:

• One outside westbound lane of SR 802/Lake Worth Road between the railroad tracks and N. A Street may be closed daily from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, for signing, irrigation, and site restoration work, through Friday, June 14.
• One outside eastbound lane of SR 802/Lake Worth Road between Cleveland Street to N. A Street may be closed daily from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, for signing, irrigation, and site restoration work, through Friday, June 14.
• One lane in each direction of SR 802/Lake Worth Road from east of Erie Street to N B Street will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday, June 9 through Thursday, June 13, for signal and final pavement marking operations.

 

12. SR 802/Lake Avenue/Lucerne Avenue Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation Project

Description: This 2.382-mile project from east of A Street to east of Golfview Road in the City of Lake Worth Beach began on February 27, 2024. Work includes milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, replacing and upgrading signing and pavement markings, installing new and upgrading existing lighting throughout the project corridor, upgrading pedestrian features at signalized intersections, and upgrading pedestrian curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Cost/Completion: $5.4 million/Early 2025

Traffic Impacts:

• Intermittent sidewalk closures will occur at the intersections on both sides of Lucerne Avenue from C Street to Golfview Road from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, for removal of existing concrete and construction of new sidewalks, curbs, and gutters and drainage.  Pedestrian detours will be in place, and access to businesses will be maintained.
• Intermittent sidewalk closures will occur at the intersections of the south side of Lake Avenue from South side of B Street to south side of Golfview Road from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, for removal of existing concrete and construction of new sidewalks, curbs, and gutters, and tree pruning and rooting. Pedestrian detours will be in place, and access to businesses will be maintained.

 

13. State Road (SR) 5/North Federal Highway Milling and Resurfacing Project

Description: This 1.298-mile project from south of 10th Avenue South to 6th Avenue North in Lake Worth Beach is anticipated to begin on June 18, 2024. Project improvements include milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, adding drainage and constructing a raised intersection at 7^th Avenue South, upgrading pedestrian curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, installing signalized pedestrian crossings with Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) at 8^th Avenue South, 3^rd Avenue North, and 4^th Avenue North, removing the existing midblock crossing between 4^th Avenue North and 5^th Avenue North, upgrading vehicular and pedestrian signalization at 6^th Avenue South and 2^nd Avenue North, installing lighting at the intersections of 8^th Avenue South, 6^th Avenue South, 2^nd Avenue North, 3^rd Avenue North, and 4^th Avenue North, and upgrading signage and pavement markings for shared bicycle facilities and buffered bicycle lanes. 14. 6^th Avenue South Improvements at SR 9/I-95

Description: This 1-mile project in the City of Lake Worth Beach began on November 13, 2023. Project improvements consist of lengthening the turn lanes on 6th Avenue South, adding an exclusive right turn lane to the SR 9/I-95 northbound on ramp, adding an additional right turn lane to the SR 9/I-95 southbound on ramp, lengthening the northbound left turn lane at A Street, constructing 6-foot sidewalks on both sides of 6th Avenue South, constructing 7-foot bicycle lanes on both sides of 6th Avenue South, installing Wrong-Way Driving Countermeasures on the SR 9/I-95 northbound and southbound exit ramps, constructing 16-foot ground-mounted sound walls along the SR 9/I-95 northbound exit ramp and south side of 6th Avenue South, constructing new gravity wall, curb and gutter, traffic separator, median barrier, sidewalk and driveway along 6th Avenue South within project limits, upgrading drainage, signage, lighting, signalization and pavement markings, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) upgrades, and relocation of water, sewer and utilities for the City of Lake Worth Beach.

Traffic Impact:

• 6^th Avenue South, from Michigan Avenue to South C Street, will have one lane closed in each direction through August 2024.

Ramp Impact:

• The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from eastbound 6^th Avenue South has the right turn lane closed to safely facilitate roadway and drainage operations.
• The I-95 northbound exit ramp to eastbound 6^th Avenue South has the right turn lane closed to safely facilitate roadway and drainage operations.
• The I-95 northbound exit ramp to westbound 6^th Avenue South has the left turn lane closed to safely facilitate roadway and drainage operations.
• The I-95 southbound exit ramp to westbound 6^th Avenue South has one right turn lane closed to safely facilitate the construction of a Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) wall and roadway construction.
• The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from westbound 6^th Avenue South will have one lane closed daily as needed, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to safely facilitate roadway operations.

 

15. SR 7/US 441 Resurfacing Project

Description: This 2-mile project in Royal Palm Beach began on August 17, 2023. The project improvements consist of milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, improving signing and pavement markings, upgrading pedestrian curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, and upgrading lighting and signalization at the following intersections: Weisman Way/Bella Terra Way, Belvedere Road, Business Park Way, Regal Cinemas 18, Aldi Way, and Okeechobee Boulevard. Traffic Impacts:

• Two lanes in each direction of SR 7/US 441 from north of SR 80/Southern Boulevard to SR 704/Okeechobee Boulevard, will be closed Sunday night through Thursday night, between 9 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., for traffic loops installation, milling and resurfacing operations.
• Intermittent single-lane closures will occur in each direction of SR 7/US 441 from north of SR 80/Southern Boulevard to SR 704/Okeechobee Boulevard, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday for installation of erosion control devices, sidewalk, ADA Ramps, lighting, and signalization upgrades.

16.  North Shore Pedestrian Bridge Improvements Project

Description:  This 0.07-mile project on North Shore Drive over the Carver Canal in the city of West Palm Beach is anticipated to begin on June 12, 2024. Work includes construction of a prefabricated steel pedestrian bridge on the west side of North Shore Drive crossing the Carver Canal, realignment of the pedestrian sidewalk path on the west side of North Shore Bridge to the new pedestrian bridge, reconstruction of drainage outfalls along the north and south sides of the newly constructed pedestrian bridge, replacement and upgrading signage impacted by construction, and adding lighting at each side of the new pedestrian bridge. 17. SR 809/Military Trail at SR 882/Forest Hill Boulevard Intersection Improvements Project

Description: This 0.705-mile intersection improvement project on State Road 809/Military Trail and SR 882/Forest Hill Boulevard in Palm Beach County began on September 6, 2022. Work includes widening, milling, and resurfacing along SR 809/Military Trail and SR 882/Forest Hill Boulevard, constructing additional right and left turn lanes on SR 809/Military Trail and additional right turn lanes on SR 882/Forest Hill Boulevard, installing new 5-foot bike lanes at various locations along SR 882/Forest Hill Boulevard, improving sidewalks and driveways at the intersection of SR 809/Military Trail and SR 882/Forest Hill Boulevard, installing four new signal mast arms at the intersection, and installing new signage and pavement markings. Traffic Impact:.

• The outside eastbound and westbound lanes on Forest Hill Boulevard may be closed from Haverhill Road to Kirk Road from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for signalization work.
• The outside northbound and southbound lanes on Military Trail may be closed from Summit Boulevard to Purdy Lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for signalization work.

The project improvements consist of milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, reconstructing sidewalks in select locations, upgrading pedestrian curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, upgrading signalization at Dyer Boulevard, SR 710/Beeline Highway/Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and SR 708/W Blue Heron Boulevard, and upgrading pedestrian signals, intersection lighting, signage, and pavement markings. 19. State Road (SR) 710/Beeline Highway Reconstruction Project

Description: This 3.142-mile project in the cities of Palm Beach Gardens, Riviera Beach and West Palm Beach began on March 18, 2024. Improvements consist of widening SR 710/Beeline Highway from Northlake Boulevard to SR 708/Blue Heron Boulevard from 4 lanes to 6 lanes, replacing and widening the Florida’s Turnpike bridge over SR 710/Beeline Highway, constructing an at-grade partial Continuous Flow Intersection (CFI) at the intersection of SR 710/Beeline Highway and Northlake Boulevard, adding sidewalks and bicycle lanes on both sides of SR 710/Beeline Highway, upgrading railroad crossings, drainage, signage, lighting, signalization and pavement markings throughout project limits, and upgrading Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). For more information, please contact Community Outreach Manager Andrea Pacini at (561) 214-3358 or [email protected].

20. US 1 Bridge Replacement Project 

Description: This 4.1-mile project located in the Town of Jupiter from CR A1A to CR 707/Beach Road and surrounding intersections began October 18, 2021. It consists of replacing the existing US 1 Bridge over the Loxahatchee River, including adding bike lanes and sidewalks in each direction. Other improvements include installing Intelligent Transportation System technology to improve traffic flow, adding decorative lighting and drainage, and upgrading signage and pavement markings. Minor improvements will also be made to the Alternate A1A bridge over the Loxahatchee River. In addition, intersection improvements will occur at Alternate A1A and Old Dixie Highway by shifting the intersection to the southwest, adding a traffic signal, and lengthening the left-turn lane from northbound Alternate A1A to northbound Old Dixie Highway. 21. State Road 25/US 27 Safety Improvements Project

Description: Construction on this 13-mile safety improvements project began on Monday, January 3, 2022, in western Palm Beach County. Work includes widening the shoulders of the roadway, replacing, or resetting guardrails along the roadway, installing rumble strips, and internally illuminated retroreflective pavement markings along the roadway shoulders, adding a median acceleration lane and flashing beacons at the Okeelanta Road intersection, adding outside and median acceleration lanes at the County Road 827/Bolles Canal Road intersection. • Northbound and southbound SR 25/US 27 posted speed limits are reduced from 65 mph to 55 mph from just north of Mile Marker 71 to just south of Mile Marker 60 through the duration of the project.
• The inside northbound lane and shoulder are closed from mile marker 67 to mile marker 70 for shoulder widening activities.

22. State Road 25/US 27 Resurfacing and Restoration Project

Description: Construction on this 13-mile resurfacing and restoration project from the Hendry County Line to SR 80/East Palm Beach Road began on Thursday, May 5, 2022, in Western Palm Beach County. Work includes milling and resurfacing existing travel lanes and shoulders, shoulder widening, replacing or resetting guardrails along the roadway, restoring sidewalks at various locations, upgrading curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, adding pedestrian gates at the FEC Railroad crossing, improving lighting and replacing the signals at SR 80/East Palm Beach Road, upgrading pedestrian signals, pavement markings, and signing to current standards, installing rumble strips and internally illuminated retroreflective pavement markings.

Description: Construction on this 4.44-mile resurfacing project on SR 715 and SR 80 began on July 10, 2023, in Western Palm Beach County.  Work includes milling and resurfacing the existing roadway and minor widening of existing paved shoulders, installing pedestrian signalization and markings, improving signing and pavement markings, upgrading pedestrian curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, and adding new sidewalk on the west side of SR 715 and select locations on SR 80. 24. SR 729/State Market Road Resurfacing, Restoration and Rehabilitation Project

Description: Construction on this 2.272-mile roadway improvements project on SR 729/State Market Road in Pahokee began on April 28, 2024. Work includes milling and resurfacing SR 729/State Market Road, widening traffic lanes from 11 feet to 12 feet, widening the existing paved shoulders as permitted by FDOT right-of-way, reconstructing northbound SR 729/State Market Road sidewalks and shared use paths from north of Rock Pit Road to SR 15/US 441/E Main Street and upgrading signage and pavement markings throughout project limits. 25. SR 15/US 441/US 98 Roadway Improvements Project

Description: Construction on this 6.8-mile roadway improvements project on SR 15/US 441/US 98 in Canal Point began on October 23, 2023. Work includes milling and resurfacing the existing travel lanes, widening roadway shoulders, constructing a new sidewalk along the east side of the road from Canal Point Park and Recreation Center to Connell Road, constructing new bike lanes from Lake View Drive to Canal Point Park and Recreation Center, upgrading signing and pavement markings, replacing or resetting guardrails along the roadway, upgrading the bridge concrete barrier wall over the L-8 Canal. Description: Construction on this 14.828-mile resurfacing, restoration, and rehabilitation project from north of 1st Street to west of SR 80 began on May 1, 2024, in Western Palm Beach County. Work includes milling and resurfacing of SR 700/Conners Highway, replacing and upgrading existing curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, installing rumble strips for the roadway segment with a posted speed greater than 50 miles per hour (mph), minor shoulder widening in various locations, installing, upgrading, and repairing guardrail as needed, upgrading pedestrian signals, pavement markings, and signs.
