Governor DeSantis Appoints Eric Silagy as Chairman

Governor Ron DeSantis, along with the Florida Delegation, Southeast U.S./Japan Association, Inc. (‘SEUS/Japan’) today announced that Florida will be the host for the 44th Annual SEUS/Japan Joint Meeting Program in Orlando November 16-19, 2022, and that Eric Silagy, President & CEO of Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), will serve as Chairman of the meeting along with his Japan co-chair, Mr. Masaaki Tsuya, External Advisor, Bridgestone Corporation. The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) today filed a proposed permanent rule that prohibits the issuance or renewal of licenses for facilities or organizations that house Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) whom the Federal Government is resettling across the United States, including Florida, unless there is a cooperative agreement between the State of Florida and the Federal Government.
