SunRail Emergency Simulation This Thursday

Posted on June 20, 2018

Passersby Might See Activity Near Donegan Avenue, Kissimmee

SunRail is participating in an emergency exercise this Thursday, June 21, along the railroad tracks north of Donegan Avenue, from approximately 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The event will simulate an emergency, where the train has come to a stop, and passengers are transferred to a bus, which takes them to the Tupperware Station.

This bus bridge exercise is meant to benefit SunRail crews, LYNX bus service providers, as well as emergency responders in the southern expansion area, where new service is beginning July 30. In the event of an emergency where SunRail trains could not run, buses will have to shuttle passengers between stations. About 12 to 15 volunteers are participating.

Passersby are urged to stay back for safety reasons.
