Altamonte Springs man arrested on 10 counts of child pornography
Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Orlando Cyber Crime Task Force today arrested Timothy Young, 38, of 133 Oyster Bay Circle, Apt. 360, Altamonte Springs, on 10 counts of possession of child pornography.
After receiving a tip, FDLE agents launched an investigation and found that Young had downloaded images depicting child pornography. During the execution of a search warrant, agents conducted a forensic preview of digital devices and found at least 10 files of children who appeared to be under the age of 10 in sexual images.
Young was taken to the Seminole County Jail on a $350,000 bond. He will be prosecuted by the State Attorney’s Office, 18th Judicial Circuit.
SunRail Railroad Crossing Work and Road Closure on S.R. 436 Altamonte Springs
State Road (S.R.) 436/East Altamonte Drive is closing in both directions at the railroad crossing east of South Ronald Reagan Boulevard from 9 p.m. Friday, March 31 to 3 a.m. Monday, April 3. The closure is needed to replace the existing SunRail crossing with new concrete panels and asphalt approaches, which will provide a safer and smoother crossing for motorists.
Detour route signage is placed at key locations in the area to direct drivers around the work zone. Access to businesses and residences will be maintained.
Detour Information:
- Westbound S.R. 436 traffic will be directed to turn right onto U.S. 17/92 northbound, then left onto Dog Track Road and left onto South Ronald Regan Boulevard to go back to S.R. 436. Local traffic will be permitted to continue west on S.R. 436 to point of the closure.
- Eastbound traffic on S.R. 436 will be directed to turn left onto South Ronald
Reagan Boulevard, right onto Dog Track Road and then right onto U.S. 17/92 southbound to go back to S.R. 436.

I-4 Ultimate Schedules Open House in Altamonte Springs
The public is invited to learn more about the I-4 Ultimate project and how it is transforming Seminole County, as well as the entire 21-mile corridor, during a public information open house scheduled for Thursday, February 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Hilton Orlando/Altamonte Springs, 350 Northlake Boulevard, Altamonte Springs.
“We encourage the public to attend this event to learn more about the project, view area maps and displays, and discuss the project with staff,” said Loreen Bobo, P.E., I-4 Ultimate Construction Program Manager.
Major changes planned for the northern end of the project will be highlighted during the meeting, such as improvements to State Road (S.R.) 436 and S.R. 434 interchanges, Central Parkway overpass and Wymore Road-Douglas Avenue intersection.
The project officially launched in February 2015 and expected completion is 2021. The I-4 Ultimate project is rebuilding 21 miles of Interstate 4 from Kirkman Road in Orange County to S.R. 434 in Seminole County, adding two new dynamic tolled Express Lanes in each direction, replacing more than 140 bridges, reconfiguring 15 major interchanges and reconstructing the entire existing roadway.

PSC Customer Service Hearings for Altamonte Springs and Lakeland
The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) invites customers of Utilities Inc. of Florida (Utilities, Inc.) to participate in customer service hearings in Altamonte Springs and Lakeland on the utility’s petition for a water and wastewater rate increase. The hearings will allow customers to provide public comment on Utilities Inc.’s rate request. Customer input will be taken into consideration when the Commission considers this request.
