California woman claims $750,000 LUCKY MONEY jackpot while visiting family in Miami
The Florida Lottery announces that Litzy Ruiz, 45, of Pasadena, California, claimed the $750,000 LUCKY MONEY™ jackpot from the October 27, 2017, drawing at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.
“I usually don’t play the Lottery at home in California, but I decided to purchase a LUCKY MONEY ticket while visiting family in Miami,” Ruiz explained. “Winning this incredible jackpot is definitely a good excuse to extend my time in Florida!”
Ruiz chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $552,594.30. She purchased her winning LUCKY MONEY ticket from Publix, located at 8680 Southwest 24th Street in Miami. The retailer received a bonus commission of $1,000 for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.

New MEGA MILLIONS enhancements feature increased starting jackpots and more millionaires

The MEGA MILLIONS® Draw game is undergoing a redesign that will bring more value to itsplayers with larger starting jackpots and more $1 million winners! The new enhancements include a starting jackpot that will increase from $15 million to $40 million, and will grow fasteroverall; better odds to win the second-tier prize of $1 million; and larger lower-tier prizes. The ticket price will also change, increasing from $1 to $2 per play; Megaplier® will remain at $1 more per play.
The MEGA MILLIONS number matrix will also change; players will now select five numbers from 1 to 70, and one Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. Overall odds of winning a prize will be one-in-24. The new MEGA MILLIONS enhancements will go into effect on Saturday, October 28, 2017; the first drawing to include the enhancements will be Tuesday, October 31, 2017.
