Yulee man wins top prize playing MONOPOLY $2,000,000 FLORIDA EDITION Scratch-Off game

The Florida Lottery announces that Sydney Smith, of Yulee, claimed a top prize in the MONOPOLYTM $2,000,000 FLORIDA EDITION Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,540,000.00.
Smith purchased his winning ticket from Circle K Gas Station, located at 850378 U.S. Highway 17 in Yulee. The retailer will receive a $4,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.
The $10 Scratch-Off game, MONOPOLY $2,000,000 FLORIDA EDITION, launched in July 2016, and features more than $151 million in prizes, including eight top prizes of $2,000,000! The game’s overall odds of winning are one-in-3.45.
Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, comprising approximately 65 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $734 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2015-16.

Florida Lottery's summer EZmatch promotion turns up the heat with higher instant cash prizes

The Florida Lottery’s summer EZmatch™ promotion is back! For a limited time, players who add EZmatch to their FANTASY 5® or LUCKY MONEY™ purchases can instantly win higher cash prizes of up to $1,000.
From Monday, July 3, through Sunday, September 3, 2017, the EZmatch top prize will double from $500 to $1,000 and the second prize from $250 to $500. EZmatch players will also enjoy an increased minimum prize of $5, up from $2. Additionally, the number of $500 instant-win prizes will be doubled throughout the nine-week promotional period.
EZmatch is an add-on feature that gives FANTASY 5 and LUCKY MONEY players the opportunity to win cash prizes instantly, for an additional $1 per play. When players add EZmatch to their FANTASY 5 or LUCKY MONEY purchase, five EZmatch numbers and instant prize amounts will be printed on the ticket. If any of the EZmatch numbers match any of the FANTASY 5 or LUCKY MONEY numbers on the ticket, the player instantly wins the prize amount shown. Players can win up to five times on a single ticket. More than 74 million EZmatch winners have won over $261 million in cash prizes, since the feature was first introduced in 2006.
All EZmatch prizes of less than $600 can be redeemed at any Florida Lottery retailer. Prizes of $600 or more must be claimed at a Florida Lottery district office. If an EZmatch prize is paid by a retailer before the applicable FANTASY 5 or LUCKY MONEY drawing on the ticket has occurred, a continuation ticket will be provided to the player.  EZmatch prizes can be claimed up to 180 days after the first draw date on the ticket. FANTASY 5 drawings are held seven days a week, at 11:15 p.m., ET and LUCKY MONEY drawings are held Tuesday and Friday nights at 11:15 p.m., ET. Florida Lottery drawings are broadcast on 17 carrier stations throughout the state and are available for viewing on the Florida Lottery website. Winning numbers are available on the Lottery website, at retailers statewide and by phone at (850) 921-PLAY.

Gov. Scott Announces Appointment of Jim Poppell as Secretary of the Florida Lottery

Governor Rick Scott today announced the appointment of Jim Poppell as secretary of the Florida Lottery. Poppell will assume the role of secretary beginning July 10th. Secretary Tom Delacenserie left the Florida Lottery on June 2nd to pursue a new position in Kentucky. David Mica, who has served as chief of staff since 2016, has been the interim secretary at Florida Lottery.
Governor Scott said, “During his time at DEO, Jim has helped provide Florida families and businesses with the support they need to succeed. I am confident that Jim will continue the Lottery’s focus on fighting for students and achieving record sales to invest in our education system. I look forward to working with him to further support Florida students.”
Jim Poppell currently serves as Chief of Staff at the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) and previously served as DEO’s General Counsel. He has also held leadership positions at NextEra Energy, Inc. from 2008-2010 and Florida Power & Light Company from 2006-2008. Poppell also previously served as a minister for 21 years. Poppell received his bachelor’s degree from Eckerd College, his master’s degree from Spring Arbor University and his law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.

The Florida Lottery announces that James Flowers, 59, of Jacksonville, claimed a top prize in the MONOPOLY™ $5,000,000 FLORIDA EDITION Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.
Flowers chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $3.84 million. The winning ticket was purchased from King Food Mart, located at 10771 Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville. The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.
The $20 Scratch-Off game, MONOPOLY $5,000,000 FLORIDA EDITION, launched in July 2016, and features more than $346 million in prizes, including six top prizes of $5,000,000 and 20 prizes of $1 million! The game’s overall odds of winning are one-in-2.97.

The Florida Lottery announces that Jeffrey Puleski, 54, trustee of “The Puleski Family Trust Made June 20, 2017,” of North Fort Myers, claimed a top prize in the MONOPOLY™ $5,000,000 FLORIDA EDITION Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.
The Puleski Family Trust Made June 20, 2017, chose to receive the winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $3.84 million. The winning ticket was purchased from Publix, located at 6700 Bayshore Road in North Fort Myers. The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

Two Florida players claim LUCKY MONEY jackpot prizes

The Florida Lottery announces that William Hensley, 57, of Orlando, and Sandra Huggins, 65, of Melbourne, each claimed their share of the $550,000 jackpot from the June 9, 2017, LUCKY MONEY™ drawing at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.
Hensley chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $205,248.89. He purchased his winning LUCKY MONEY Quick Pick ticket from Publix, located at 825 Rinehart Road in Lake Mary.
Huggins chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $205,248.89. She purchased her winning LUCKY MONEY Quick Pick ticket from Circle K Gas Station, located at 2455 North Wickham Road in Melbourne.
The next LUCKY MONEY drawing will be held Friday, June 16, 2017, at 11:15 p.m. ET, with a $550,000 jackpot. The LUCKY MONEY drawings are broadcast on 17 carrier stations throughout the state. The Florida Lottery announces that Frank Gouge, of Plantation, claimed a $1 million prize in the $10,000,000 FORTUNE Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $792,000.00.
Gouge purchased his winning ticket from Discount Food Stop, located at 41 East Acre Drive in Plantation. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.
The $25 Scratch-Off game, $10,000,000 FORTUNE, launched in February 2016, and features more than $623 million in total cash prizes, including 46 prizes of $1 million and four prizes of $10 million. The game’s overall odds of winning are one-in-2.88.

More Than $27.8 Million Will Go To Education

The POWERBALL® jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing is an estimated $375 million; the largest in the nation. In addition to the large POWERBALL jackpot prize, players have the opportunity to win lower-tier prizes from $4 to $2 million by matching any of the non-jackpot-winning combinations. The POWERBALL jackpot has rolled 18 times since the April 5, 2017, drawing and has generated more than $27.8 million in contributions to the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).

Silberbusch purchased her winning ticket from Publix, located at 3044 South Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach Shores. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.
