The Florida Lottery announces that Nancy Burke, 56, of Palatka, claimed a $1 million prize in the $5,000,000 GOLD RUSH DOUBLER Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $745,000.00.
Burke purchased her winning ticket from My Stop Food Mart, located at 238 U.S. Highway 17 North in Palatka. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

The Florida Lottery announces that Kelli Levay, 54, of Seminole, claimed a $1,000 a Week for Life prize in the new multi-state Draw game CASH4LIFE®. She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump sum payment of $1,000,000. Levay is Florida’s second CASH4LIFE winner.
Levay purchased her winning ticket from Quick Stop, located at 6625 Seminole Boulevard in Seminole. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning CASH4LIFE ticket.
The Lottery added CASH4LIFE to its portfolio of games beginning in February. This popular multi-state game offers two lifetime prizes, with the chance to win $1,000 a Day for Life or $1,000 a Week for Life. Florida is the ninth state to join CASH4LIFE, and game sales are expected to raise millions of additional dollars for education in Florida, and increase commissions to the Lottery’s more than 13,000 retailers.

Florida Lottery ends third quarter with best March on record
$412 million in total contributions to education
The Florida Lottery ended the third quarter of fiscal year 2016-17 with record sales of more than $590 million for the month of March and total sales for the quarter exceeding $1.6 billion. Additionally, the Lottery experienced its best Scratch-Off month of all time with sales exceeding $433 million, leading to the best fiscal year quarter for Scratch-Off sales since the Lottery’s inception. The Lottery contributed more than $412 million to the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) during the third quarter.
“As we make the final push toward the end of the fiscal year, the Lottery remains committed to our mission of generating the most money possible to provide Florida’s students with the opportunity to receive a great education,” said Secretary Tom Delacenserie. “I’m extremely proud of the hard work and dedication our Lottery team has demonstrated this quarter.”
Over the past 29 years, the Florida Lottery has established itself as a dependable funding source for public education. For 15 consecutive years the Lottery has transferred more than $1 billion to education, while remaining one of the most efficient lotteries in the nation. Additionally, the Lottery has contributed more than $5 billion to the Bright Futures Scholarship Program to send over 750,000 students to college.
Florida Lottery contributions represent approximately six percent of the state’s total education budget. Lottery funds are appropriated by the Florida Legislature and are administered by the Florida Department of Education.
St. Petersburg woman claims $13 million FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot
The Florida Lottery announces that Joanne Powell, of St. Petersburg, claimed the $13 million FLORIDA LOTTO® jackpot from the drawing held on March 15, 2017.
“My husband and I have been buying our FLORIDA LOTTO tickets at the same Publix since 2002,” Powell said. “We heard they had recently sold a winning ticket, and checked the numbers in the newspaper while out to breakfast. We couldn’t believe our luck when we discovered the winning numbers matched our ticket!”
Powell chose to receive the winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $8,675,247.98. The jackpot-winning FLORIDA LOTTO Quick Pick ticket was purchased from Publix, located at 5577 Park Street North in St. Petersburg. The retailer received a bonus commission of $65,000 for selling the jackpot-winning FLORIDA LOTTO ticket. Total ticket sales for this jackpot generated more than $11 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
The next FLORIDA LOTTO drawing will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at 11:15 p.m. ET, with a $7 million jackpot. FLORIDA LOTTO drawings are broadcast on 17 carrier stations throughout the state.
