Gov. Scott: State Debt Reduced by More Than $10 Billion

Governor Rick Scott today announced that since December 2010, state debt has been paid down by more than $10 billion. This is the largest reduction of state debt during one administration in Florida’s history. In June, Governor Scott announced that Moody’s Investors Service upgraded Florida’s General Obligation (GO) bond rating to Aaa, and for the first time in the history of Florida, all three rating agencies now have Florida’s GO bond rating at AAA. Emergency Grant Program, $900,000 for Lee County Red Tide Clean-Up

Governor Rick Scott today issued Executive Order 18-221 declaring a state of emergency due to impacts of red tide in Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Sarasota, Manatee, Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. Gov. Scott Provides an Additional $400,000 to Lee County to Clean Local Waterways

Governor Rick Scott announced that the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is providing an additional $400,000 to Lee County to clean up impacts related to red tide, for a total of $1.1 million in grant funding. Under the direction of the emergency order issued by Governor Scott last month, DEP launched a $3 million grant program to help local governments clean up waterways affected by harmful algal blooms. Gov. Scott: Expedited Water Project Will Help Reduce Harmful Lake Okeechobee Discharges

Governor Rick Scott today announced that, under his direction, another key Everglades restoration project is moving forward ahead of schedule.
