Gov. Scott Highlights Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday in Miami
Governor Rick Scott with First Lady Ann Scott and Lieutenant Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera today visited LR Uniforms in Miami, where he highlighted the back-to-school sales tax holiday that will begin this Friday, August 3rd and go through August 5th.. During this holiday, Floridians will not sales tax on supplies for the upcoming school year, saving families $32.7 million. Since Governor Scott took office, taxes have been cut nearly 100 times, saving Floridians more than $10 billion.

Governor Rick Scott today announced that the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) have reached an agreement on a $50 million state investment to fund repairs to the Herbert Hoover Dike. Governor Rick Scott announced that the Florida Sports Foundation estimates that the 2018 Major League Baseball (MLB) spring training in Florida generated an economic impact of $687.1 million. The study also showed that 7,152 jobs are created annually by Florida Spring Training, accounting for $253.5 million in wages.
