Caldwell Announces Powerhouse Finance Committee

Matt Caldwell today announced the members of his statewide, finance committee in his bid for Commissioner of Agriculture. The announcement comes on the heels of the news that Caldwell’s campaign and Political Committee has raised nearly $2 million to date – leading in actual funds raised from supporters across the state.

Matt Caldwell Remains Undefeated With 5th Straw Poll Victory

Grassroots activists from Northwest Florida gathered in Clay County on Saturday afternoon for a straw poll held by the Clay County Republican Executive Committee. Caldwell defeated his opponents and won the straw poll for Commissioner of Agriculture with 46.5% of the vote, making it 5 for 5 in major markets across Florida. Baxter Troutman followed with 31.5%, while Denise Grimsley and Mike McCalister received 18% and 4% respectively.

Matt Caldwell said, “I am honored to win in Clay County and continue to grow our grassroots team across Florida. We are running a true, statewide race and reaching all corners of the state to connect with voters. We will continue to outwork our opponents and fight for conservative issues as Commissioner of Agriculture and on the Florida cabinet.”

Brian Swensen, spokesperson for Caldwell’s campaign said, “Momentum is on our side and we are the only campaign running the same way that we would govern: in all 67 counties, both communities big and small. We will continue that same work ethic and statewide focus when elected.”

Previously, Caldwell trounced his opponents and won the straw poll for Commissioner of Agriculture held by the Lee County Republican Executive Committee with 91% of the vote and the straw poll held by Southwest Florida Young Republicans with 73% of the vote. He also won the statewide straw poll held by WBOB in Jacksonville with 60%, followed by Grimsley with 24% and Troutman with 16%. In Orlando, a statewide straw poll was held by the Florida Republican Women’s Network where Caldwell edged out Grimsley, 50% to 46%.

Since launching his bid for Florida Commissioner of Agriculture in May 2017, Representative Caldwell has traveled over 65,000 miles across the Sunshine State.

Caldwell leads in actual funds raised from donors in this race

In April, Matt Caldwell’s campaign and Political Committee raised a combined $164,275. After tallying another strong month of fundraising, the campaign and Political Committee has raised nearly $2 million – leading in actual funds raised from supporters across the state. This news follows four consecutive straw poll victories and the recent unanimous endorsement of the Florida Police Benevolent Association.

Representative Caldwell said, “I am proud to be running a true, statewide race, from the Panhandle to the Keys. Our hard work has resulted in a tremendous amount of support as we talk to voters across the Sunshine State and our grassroots campaign is rapidly growing. Momentum is on our side and supporters know the importance of electing a principled conservative to serve as Commissioner of Agriculture and on the Florida cabinet.”

Caldwell’s campaign for Florida Commissioner of Agriculture raised $50,224 in April, while Friends of Matt Caldwell, a Political Committee supporting his bid, brought in $114,050. After tallying another strong month of fundraising, the campaign and Political Committee has over $1.12 million cash-on-hand.

Officers in Bid for Commissioner of Agriculture

Representative Matt Caldwell announced the endorsements of constitutional officers from Florida’s Panhandle, in the ninth wave of endorsements announced by the campaign, which follows the unanimous support of Republican House members from across Florida. Since launching his bid for Florida Commissioner of Agriculture, Representative Caldwell hastraveled the Sunshine State talking to voters, sharing his conservative message and buildingsupport for his grassroots campaign, which has raised more than $1.71 million to date and has over $1 million cash-on-hand.

Representative Caldwell said, “I’m proud to receive the endorsements of these Constitutional Officers in the Panhandle.  Florida’s next Commissioner of Agriculture will work closely with these key leaders to support businesses and families across the Sunshine State and I am honored that they have placed their trust in me.”

Matt Caldwell Captures 4th Straw Poll Victory & Unites Floridians Across the State

Grassroots activists from Southwest Florida gathered in Lee County on Saturday afternoon for a straw poll held by the Lee County Republican Executive Committee. Caldwell trounced his opponents and won the straw poll for Commissioner of Agriculture with 91% of the vote, making it 4 for 4 in major markets across Florida. Denise Grimsley followed with 9%, while Baxter Troutman and Mike McCalister received a total of 0 votes each.

With additional victories in Orlando and Jacksonville, it is clear that across the state, Floridians are united behind the principled conservative in the race.

Matt Caldwell said, “I am honored to win in my hometown, which is a testament to more than a decade of hard work as a principled conservative, both as a grassroots activist and an elected official. With the opportunity to fight for the conservative issues we all care about as Commissioner of Agriculture, we are going to continue to run a true, statewide race, from the Panhandle to the Keys, connecting with voters across the state.”

Earlier in the week, Caldwell won the straw poll held by Southwest Florida Young Republicans with 73% of the vote. Caldwell Campaign Continues to Outraise the Field

Representative Matt Caldwell continues to outraise the field and build momentum in his bid for Commissioner of Agriculture. In December, Caldwell’s campaign and Political Committee raised a combined $101,701 and has over $1,078,762 million cash-on-hand.
Caldwell is running against Senator Denise Grimsley and former Representative Baxter Troutman in the Republican Primary. Senator Denise Grimsley, on the other hand, didn’t break the six-figure mark with her fundraising this month. In December, Grimsley’s campaign and Political Committee raised a combined $90,275 and has $872,278 cash-on-hand. In December, Troutman’s campaign and Political Committee raised a combined $7,875.

Representative Matt Caldwell announced a successful fundraising year, having raised a total of $1.56 million in his bid for Florida Commissioner of Agriculture in 2017. In December, Caldwell’s campaign and Political Committee raised a combined $101,701 and has over $1.07 million cash-on-hand.
Caldwell’s campaign for Florida Commissioner of Agriculture raised $42,201 in December, while Friends of Matt Caldwell, a Political Committee supporting his bid, brought in $59,500. After tallying another strong month of fundraising, the campaign and Political Committee raised more than $1.56 million in 2017.

We have traveled nearly 41,000 miles across this State since May 1st and, in every small town or big city we visit across the Sunshine State, supporters know how important it is to have a principled conservative serving as Commissioner of Agriculture and on the Florida cabinet.”
