Blacklidge Fundraising Strength Continues

Since entering the race for House District 69,
the Republican has banked nearly $155,000

The Ray Blacklidge Campaign today announced that it raised $8,895 during April, bringing his total amount raised to more than $121,000. When combined with funds raised for his political committee, Friends of Ray Blacklidge, his total amount raised is $154,880. Blacklidge is seeking the District 69 seat in the Florida House of Representatives.

“These solid fundraising numbers represent the strength of our conservative platform,” said Blacklidge. “I’m grateful and encouraged that so many folks are investing in our vision of limited government, more jobs, and better education. I look forward to continuing to work hard to get that message out there to all District 69 voters.”

Blacklidge, a Republican, has an extensive background as an entrepreneur with a record of protecting consumers and fighting fraud. He currently works as an insurance executive and attorney in the management of a Florida-based insurance company.

Blacklidge is a longtime Pinellas County resident who lives with his wife, Lisa, a physician’s assistant, in Madeira Beach, and they are thrilled that their five children and three grandchildren all live in the Tampa Bay area.

House District 69 covers the south Pinellas beach communities from Redington Shores to Fort DeSoto, as well as portions of St. Petersburg, Gulfport, Kenneth City, and Pinellas Park. With 36 percent of the district’s voter registration, Republicans maintain a slight lead over the Democrats’ 35 percent. Independents and minor parties make up 29 percent of the district.

Leslie Waters Endorses Blacklidge for Florida House

The Seminole mayor and former state legislator
says Blacklidge is the right choice for District 69

The Ray Blacklidge Campaign today announced the endorsement of Mayor Leslie Waters of Seminole. Blacklidge, a Republican, is running to represent District 69 in the Florida House of Representatives.

“I’ve known Ray Blacklidge for more than 20 years. He will be a strong leader in Tallahassee, and he has my full support,” said Waters. “I know what it takes to be a successful legislator, and Ray’s business background and commitment to public service make him more than qualified. District 69 residents would be well represented by him in Tallahassee.”

Waters has served as mayor of Seminole since 2013. Prior to that, she was elected to the Seminole City Council in 2009, serving as Vice Mayor in 2010. From 1998 to 2006, she represented District 51 in the Florida House of Representatives, where she was Speaker Pro Tem from 2006 to 2008.

“Mayor Waters is a distinguished leader in our area at both the state and local levels, and I’m honored to have her endorsement,” said Blacklidge. “I look forward to following her example of public service and working together to strengthen Seminole and our entire community.”

Rep. Boyd Endorses Blacklidge

Rep. Jim Boyd says Ray Blacklidge’s private sector
experience makes him the best candidate for District 69

The Ray Blacklidge Campaign today announced the endorsement of Representative Jim Boyd, who currently holds the District 71 seat in the Florida House and serves on Speaker Richard Corcoran’s leadership team. Blacklidge, a Republican, is running to represent nearby District 69.

“Ray Blacklidge will be a strong leader for our area in Tallahassee,” said Boyd, “His business background and conservative convictions combine perfectly to position him to successfully drive legislation that will keep our economy growing. I’m proud to support him.”

Boyd was elected to the Florida House in 2010. Currently, he is the Chair of the Commerce Committee and serves on the Appropriations and Rules and Policy Committees. During last year’s legislative session, he was Chair of the Ways and Means Committee, which was charged with giving as much back to taxpayers as possible in tax cuts. From 2014 to 2016, Boyd was the House Deputy Majority Leader and Majority Whip. He is an insurance agent in Bradenton.

Blacklidge Posts Strong Fundraising Numbers

Since entering the race for House District 69 in June, the Republican
has raised almost three times as much as his primary opponent. 

The Ray Blacklidge Campaign today announced that it is leading his Republican primary opponent in fundraising by three to one. Blacklidge raised $5,364 in November and has banked just shy of $77,000 since entering the race in June. In addition, he has raised $20,000 for his political committee, Friends of Ray Blacklidge. He is seeking the District 69 seat in the Florida House of Representatives.
“This community is rallying around our positive message,” said Blacklidge. “I’m grateful for the friends who are joining our team because they believe in our campaign to create jobs and grow our economy. We are going strong, and I look forward to continuing to connect with as many District 69 residents as possible.”

Blacklidge Posts Strong Fundraising Numbers

The House District 69 candidate has raised over $73,000 since filing to run in early June.

The Ray Blacklidge Campaign today announced that it has raised over $73,000 since he filed to run for the District 69 seat in the Florida House two months ago. Eighty-five donors have contributed over $52,000 to his campaign, with Blacklidge’s political committee, Friends of Ray Blacklidge, raising another $21,000.
“I am very heartened by the very strong, early support we are receiving,” said Blacklidge. “I’m so grateful that so many people are stepping up to make sure we have the resources needed to take our conservative vision to Tallahassee. I will keep working hard to get our message out to voters across the district.”
Blacklidge, a Republican, has an extensive background as an entrepreneur with a record of protecting consumers and fighting fraud.  He currently works as an attorney in the management of a Florida-based insurance company. He is the first candidate to file for the seat since Representative Kathleen Peters announced she would not seek re-election in order to run for the Pinellas County Commission.
