The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is hosting a public hearing regarding plans for implementing safety improvements along State Road (S.R.) 551/Goldenrod Road between S.R. 408 and S.R. 50/East Colonial Drive in Orlando. The hearing is next Tuesday, May 29, at the Orlando Baptist Church, 500 South Semoran Boulevard.
The hearing will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with a presentation at 6 p.m., followed by a public comment period. The purpose of this public hearing is to receive public input from the local community about the proposed safety improvements which include milling and resurfacing, construction of a raised median, turn lane improvements, widening for bike lanes, and traffic signal improvements along S.R. 551 (Goldenrod Road) between S.R. 408 and S.R. 50. FDOT staff will be available to answer questions. This is an access management public hearing and will include information about the access classification change planned within the project limits. A certified court reporter will be present to collect and document comments for the project record.
