Florida United Businesses Association (FUBA) Begins New Era Offering Small Businesses A- Rated, Fully Insured Workers’ Comp Coverage

Posted on August 9, 2018

Same outstanding service. Same exceptional people. Better protection than ever.

For the first time in its 30-year history, the Florida United Businesses Association (FUBA) is able to offer small businesses across the state A- rated, fully insured, and non-assessable workers’ compensation insurance thanks to its new partnership with Lancer Indemnity Company. The New York-based insurer brings a new level of protection to FUBA’s members, who will also continue to benefit from the association’s strong advocacy in the Capitol as well as other member benefits.

“This is an exciting new chapter for FUBA and our members,” said Tom Stahl, executive director of FUBA. “For three decades we have been committed to helping Florida small businesses meet their workers’ comp needs, and this new partnership makes that protection stronger than ever.”

The partnership presents a unique opportunity for the brand well-known as FUBA Workers’ Comp to grow and flourish. The switch from the previous self-insurance model to a fully-insured and non-assessable product will give small businesses greater peace of mind knowing their policies are with a financially established company that has a proven, reliable track record providing insurance services.

With FUBA Workers’ Comp, policyholders enjoy all the benefits of FUBA membership to go along with tailored workers’ comp coverage and trusted customer service. Association benefits include compliance education, advocacy services on behalf of small businesses, monthly newsletters reporting on legislative and regulatory issues, liaison services for small businesses with state agencies, and dedicated and knowledgeable staff on call for small businesses.

Florida United Businesses Association (FUBA) is a lobbying and trade association representing over 7,000 small businesses in Florida. As the Small Business Watchdog in Tallahassee, FUBA is both a lobbyist at the state Capitol and a source for education on state laws and regulations that affect small businesses. FUBA members share a common bond of being part of the most responsive and comprehensive trade association representing small businesses in Florida.

Lancer Indemnity Company is a New York domiciled stock insurance company licensed in 19 states, including Florida, and is part of Lancer Financial Group. In addition to workers’ compensation, the well-respected insurance group offers an extensive range of commercial insurance products, including auto rental, bus and marine license insurance, and commercial property and liability.
