The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is holding a Public Hearing for the Harborview Road (CR 776) Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study from Melbourne Street to I-75 in Charlotte County.

The recommended widening improvements will require acquisition of right-of-way for road improvements and stormwater management ponds. Existing access to properties along Harborview Road will change due to the addition of a median, a result of widening the road.

The Public Hearing will be:

Date: Thursday, March 14, 2019

Time: 4 p.m., formal presentation at 5 p.m.

Location: Charlotte County-Punta Gorda Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)
25550 Harborview Road
Port Charlotte, FL 33980

People attending the hearing can review project displays and speak one-on-one with project team members. Written statements or exhibits submitted at the hearing, emailed, or mailed and postmarked by Monday, March 25, 2019, will become part of the official hearing transcript.

Persons who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or people who require translation services (free of charge) should contact FDOT Project Manager Steven A. Andrews, by phone at (863) 519-2270 or by email at [email protected] at least seven (7) days prior to the meeting.

If you are hearing or speech impaired, please contact the Florida Department of Transportation using the Florida Relay Service, 1 (800) 955-8771 (TDD) or 1 (800) 955-8770 (Voice).

FDOT solicits public participation without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. §327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2016 and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and FDOT.
