small business makes him the best choice for Senate District 36.

The Manny Diaz Campaign today announced the endorsement of NFIB Florida PAC, which is made up of members of the National Federation of Independent Business in the Sunshine State. Congress approves annual defense spending bill

The U.S. Senate today, by a vote of 87 – 10, approved a $716 billion annual defense spending bill for the next fiscal year.

The legislation, which now heads to the president’s desk to be signed in law, includes several wins for Florida that U.S. Sen. Gov. Scott Highlights Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday in Miami

Governor Rick Scott with First Lady Ann Scott and Lieutenant Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera today visited LR Uniforms in Miami, where he highlighted the back-to-school sales tax holiday that will begin this Friday, August 3rd and go through August 5th.. During this holiday, Floridians will not sales tax on supplies for the upcoming school year, saving families $32.7 million. Since Governor Scott took office, taxes have been cut nearly 100 times, saving Floridians more than $10 billion.

$50 million toward fixes for federal Herbert Hoover Dike, $700,000 for Lee County

Governor Rick Scott today announced that the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) have reached an agreement on a $50 million state investment to fund repairs to the Herbert Hoover Dike.
