Governor DeSantis Appoints Afghanistan Veteran Chris Anderson as Seminole County Supervisor of Elections and Wendy Sartory Link as Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections

Yesterday, Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order 19-19, suspending Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Susan Bucher, effective immediately. The order follows the recommendation of Secretary of State Michael Ertel to remove Bucher from office. The Governor also issued Executive Order Executive order 19-18, officially acknowledging the resignation of former Broward County Supervisor of Elections Dr. Brenda Snipes, effective January 4, 2019, formally terminating her duties.

University of Florida and UF Health Announce $20 Million Gift from the Lauren and Lee Fixel Family Foundation

Funds will help launch institute at UF Health for Parkinson’s and other neurodegenerative diseases

The University of Florida and UF Health have received a $20 million gift from the Lauren and Lee Fixel Family Foundation that will be used to establish the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases at UF Health, an institute focused on advancing research, technological innovation and clinical care for Parkinson’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s, Lewy body, ALS, dystonia and concussions.
