Flagler Youth Ministry Program Receives $1 Million Grant from Lilly Endowment

Flagler College’s Youth Ministry program has received a $1 million grant from the Lilly Endowment Inc. to begin a new program called “The Missing Voices Project” that will look for new ways to reach young people who are on the margins of society, culture and even the church.

UNF Holds Grand Opening for New Center for Entrepreneurship in Downtown Jacksonville Thanks to Million Dollar Gift

The University of North Florida will hold the grand opening of the Center for Entrepreneurship in downtown Jacksonville, located in the renovated historic Barnett National Bank Building on Adams Street. The ceremony will take place February 4, 2019. The Center was made possible by a generous gift of $1 million from Luther and Blanche Coggin.

Attorney General Moody Announces Action to Combat the Opioid Epidemic

Attorney General Ashley Moody today, in her first week, named 18 experts and community leaders to serve on her Opioid Abuse Working Group, including previously named Chair, Sheriff Dennis Lemma. The Group will gather information and best practices from across Florida to help General Moody combat the opioid epidemic.

Governor Ron DeSantis Issues Executive Order Suspending Okaloosa County Superintendent of Schools

Today, Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order 19-13, formally suspending Okaloosa County Superintendent of Schools Mary Beth Jackson, effective immediately. Governor DeSantis has announced that Marcus Chambers, currently the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, will serve as her replacement.
