PSC Terminates FPL / Vero Beach Territorial Agreement

The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) today terminated the territorial agreement between Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) and the City of Vero Beach (COVB), effective on the closing date of COVB’s electric utility sale to FPL. Special Commission Conference for FPL/ Vero Beach and FPUC Tax Act Hearing scheduled for Tuesday

The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) will hold a Special Commission Conference on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 to address Florida Power & Light Company’s (FPL) request to charge FPL rates to City of Vero Beach electric utility customers and approve its proposed accounting treatment for its purchase of the Vero Beach utility.

Following the Special Commission Conference, the PSC will hold a hearing regarding the impact of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 on Florida Public Utilities Company-Gas (FPUC); FPUC-Indiantown Division; FPUC-Fort Meade Division; and Florida Division of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation.

The Special Commission Conference is scheduled to begin at the following time and location:

Tuesday, November 27, 2018
9:30 a.m.
Betty Easley Conference Center
Joseph P. Cresse Hearing Room (Room 148)
4075 Esplanade Way
Tallahassee, Florida

In addition, Wednesday through Friday, November 28-30, 2018, have also been reserved for continuation of the hearing if needed. The starting time for this session will be announced at the conclusion of each day.
