Enriquez Earns Associated Builders and Contractors Endorsement

Posted on June 26, 2018

The construction industry group says Enriquez’s support for free market
principles makes him the best choice in the race for House District 114.

The Javier Enriquez Campaign today announced the endorsement of Associated Builders and Contractors Florida East Coast Chapter (ABC FEC), part of a national construction industry trade association that represents nearly 21,000 corporate members. Enriquez is running for the Florida House in District 114.

“We are pleased to support Javier Enriquez,” said Peter M. Dyga, President and CEO of ABC FEC. “Javier shares our commitment to free enterprise and free markets. We are confident we can count on him to advocate policies in Tallahassee that promote economic growth and greater opportunity for businesses and families across the state. We look forward to working with him.”

ABC FEC represents every segment of commercial construction, including general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. The association promotes lower taxes, free enterprise, and reasonable regulation. It is the largest provider of industry training in Florida.

“I’m honored to have ABC’s support,” said Enriquez. “I share their values and commitment to freedom and hard work, and I look forward to working with them to make sure Florida’s economy stays strong.”

Javier Enriquez Calls on Fernandez to Refuse Salary

Posted on May 17, 2018

With Fernandez’s election to House District 114 well after the close of the 2018 legislative session, Enriquez says Fernandez has done nothing to earn a taxpayer-funded salary

Javier Enriquez called on Javier Fernandez to refuse his legislative salary until after the November election. Fernandez was elected to the District 114 seat in the Florida House on May 1 in a special election, nearly two months after the end of the 2018 legislative session. Enriquez, a Republican, announced his campaign for the seat earlier this month.

“Quite simply, Javier Fernandez may be technically eligible for a legislative salary, but he should do the right thing and refuse to take it,” said Enriquez. “He has not cast a single vote on behalf of the people of District 114, and there is little likelihood that he will between now and November 6. While we both work in this campaign to earn the trust of the residents of this district, he should demonstrate his respect for their hard-earned tax dollars by refusing to take a salary he hasn’t earned.

“Fiscal discipline should be the priority of every public official. Holding elected office is a sacred trust, it comes with the obligation to practice wise stewardship of the people’s money, and officials should be held accountable. Mr. Fernandez has an opportunity to show taxpayers how he handles their money, and we are watching.”

Currently, Florida legislators earn $29,697 a year, or $571 per week.

A lifelong resident of the district, Enriquez is
running on a conservative, pro-jobs platform

Miami native Javier Enriquez today announced his candidacy for the District 114 seat in the Florida House of Representatives. Enriquez, a Republican, is an attorney and partner at Jeffrey and Enriquez, PLLC. He is a lifelong resident of District 114, which includes part of Miami-Dade County.

“District 114 has always been my home, it would be an honor and a privilege to serve my friends and neighbors in Tallahassee,” said Enriquez. “I am committed to supporting policies that foster economic growth, empower the middle class, and help families and small businesses get ahead. Our campaign is off to a great start. I am looking forward to meeting and connecting with the residents of my district to see how I can better serve them in Tallahassee. I am confident that together we can continue to build a stronger economy, a stronger community, and a stronger Florida.”
