The contractor anticipates implementing a temporary detour route at the I-75/University Parkway interchange at night/overnight Wednesday, April 5 between 11 p.m. and 12 midnight to prepare for a traffic shift.
Motorists traveling on University Parkway wishing to travel south on I-75 are directed to enter northbound I-75, exit at westbound SR 70/Exit 217 B, enter southbound I-75 and continue south on I-75. Motorists may also use local roads and enter I-75 from Fruitville Road.

The contractor anticipates implementing a temporary detour route at the I-75/University Parkway interchange at night/overnight Wednesday, April 5 between 12 midnight and 5 a.m. to replace the attenuator.
Motorists traveling north on I-75 wishing to exit at University Parkway, Exit 213 are directed to continue north on I-75, exit at westbound SR 70/Exit 217 B, enter southbound I-75, and exit at University Parkway/Exit 213.
Improvements being made as part of this project consist of constructing a diverging diamond interchange, adding an auxiliary lane on northbound and southbound I-75, constructing new bridges on I-75 over University Parkway, widening of University Parkway, widening of I-75 bridges over Errie Creek and Foley Creek, realignment of on-ramps and off-ramps at I-75/University Parkway, addition of ponds, drainage improvements, new lighting and signalization, construction of a noise wall on the west side of I-75, sidewalks, bike lanes, and pedestrian walkways. RoadWatch Advisory: SB I-75 Weigh Station Facility Reopens for Service in Punta Gorda
Motorists should expect the reconstructed southbound weigh station on I-75 at mile marker 160 to reopen for service on Tuesday, April 11. Crews have completed work on the reconstruction of the facility.
Also, on Tuesday, April 11, crews will begin demolition on the northbound I-75 weigh station. Crews will begin to demolish and rebuild the northbound weigh station on the east side of the roadway. Motorists should expect the I-75 northbound weigh station facility to be closed to the public.
Motorists should not expect lane closures on I-75. Estimated completion is end of summer 2017. The contractor is R.M. Williams Construction, Inc.

I-75 from south of Harborview Road (mile marker 167) to Sumter Boulevard (mile marker 182): Construction project: This project widens the road from four to six lanes and adds a 12-foot travel lane and 10-foot shoulder to the inside of existing northbound and southbound I-75.
- Motorists should expect lane closures on I-75 during nighttime/overnight hours from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the duration of the construction.
- Motorists should also expect periodic travel lane shifts through the duration of construction.
- Motorists should expect the inside northbound lane on the bridge over the Peace River closed through the duration of the project.
- Kings Highway on-ramp to I-75 northbound will be closed during nighttime/overnight from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5 and Thursday, April 6.
Variable message signs will be in place to alert drivers that work is underway. Drivers should use caution while traveling in this area. Estimated completion is end of 2017. The contractor is Astaldi Construction Corporation.

The contractor anticipates implementing a temporary detour route on westbound University Parkway at the I-75/University Parkway interchange on Thursday, March 30 at 10 p.m. through Friday morning at 6 a.m. and Friday, March 31 at 10 p.m. through Saturday morning while crews pave University Parkway under I-75.
Motorists traveling west on University Parkway (east of I-75) wishing to travel west through the interchange are directed to travel north on I-75, exit at westbound SR 70/Exit 217B, enter southbound I-75, and exit at University Parkway/Exit 213.
Motorists traveling north on I-75 wishing to travel west on University Parkway are directed to exit at westbound SR 70/Exit 217B (north of the closure), enter southbound I-75, and exit at University Parkway/Exit 213.

SR 60 near Boy Scout Road east of Lake Wales: Crews are making emergency repairs to SR 60 near Boy Scout Road during the day Wednesday, March 29 and Thursday, March 30.
On Wednesday, March 29, Westbound traffic will reduce to one lane and shift onto the inside eastbound lane. Eastbound traffic will use the outside eastbound lane.
On Thursday, March 30, Eastbound traffic will reduce to one lane and shift onto the inside westbound lane. Westbound traffic will use the outside westbound lane.
Use caution, be prepared to merge and expect delays.

US 41 at 32nd Street south of Myrtle Avenue: Emergency Road Closure: All northbound lanes and one southbound lane on US 41 are closed due to a water main break. Repairs are expected to continue through the weekend. Please plan additional travel time while repairs are being made.

US 41 at SR 29: Maintenance permit project: Motorists should expect the southbound lane closed beginning at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21 while the Department of Forestry performs a prescribed burn, weather permitting. Motorists should use caution and follow detour signs as crews work near the roadway.
RoadWatch Advisory: State Road 789 at New Pass Bridge
SR 789 at New Pass Bridge: Construction project: Crews are updating the Bridge Tender house, electrical and mechanical components, and traffic gates on New Pass Bridge. Sidewalk improvements are included as well.
As part of ongoing construction and to test the new electrical and mechanical components, the contractor is required to open the bridge four times per day. In an effort to minimize impacts to the public, the contractor will complete the required daily four openings between 6:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. Monday through Sunday beginning Tuesday, March 21.
If the required number of openings cannot be obtained during this time period the contractor will use openings during the day during normal boat traffic. The testing period is expected to last through mid-May. Moving forward we will make every effort to plan all coastal bridge projects start dates to avoid peak tourist season.
Construction of this $2 million project began in late August and is expected to be complete in late spring 2017. Quinn Construction is the contractor.
RoadWatch Advisory: Lane Closure US 17/92 at Ernie Caldwell Boulevard Extension

US 17/92 at Ernie Caldwell Blvd. in Davenport: Maintenance permit project: Expect lane closures at night/overnight, Wednesday, March 15 as crews test the pavement and work on final items. Use caution and watch for flaggers directing traffic. This project includes adding turn lanes and shoulders on US 17/92 at the extension of Ernie Caldwell Boulevard, approximately two miles south of CR 54 (Ronald Reagan Parkway). Project completion expected by the end of March.
RoadWatch Advisory: Lane Closure at SR 78 over Kissimmee River Bridge
OKEECHOBEE COUNTY
SR 78 over Kissimmee River Bridge: Construction project: Motorists should expect alternating eastbound and westbound lane closures on SR 78 over Kissimmee River Bridge for the duration of this project. Traffic will be reduced to one lane during construction, and motorists will take turns crossing the bridge. Traffic control lights will be used to notify motorists of their turn to cross the bridge. The travel lane will be reduced to 12 feet during construction, so wide loads will not be able to cross the bridge. This lane closure is necessary for crews to make necessary updates to the bridge. Improvements include updating the bridge infrastructure, replacing the deck grating and refreshing the paint. Motorists should expect delays and use caution as crews work in the roadway. Work is expected to be completed in summer 2017.
