The closure of University Parkway originally scheduled for Thursday, March 9 is rescheduled for Friday, March 10 between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. while crews pour span 1 of the deck on the northbound I-75 bridge over University Parkway. All ramps will remain open.
Motorists traveling west on University Parkway (east of I-75) wishing to travel west through the interchange are directed to travel north on I-75, exit at westbound SR 70/Exit 217B, enter southbound I-75, and exit at University Parkway/Exit 213.
Motorists traveling east on University Parkway (west of I-75) wishing to travel east through the interchange are directed to travel south on I-75, exit at Fruitville Road/Exit 210, enter northbound I-75, and exit at University Parkway/Exit 213.
Motorists traveling south on I-75 wishing to travel east on University Parkway are directed to exit at Fruitville Road/Exit 210 (south of the closure), enter northbound I-75, and exit at University Parkway/Exit 213.
Motorists traveling north on I-75 wishing to travel west on University Parkway are directed to exit at westbound SR 70/Exit 217B (north of the closure), enter southbound I-75, and exit at University Parkway/Exit 213.
Improvements being made as part of this project consist of constructing a diverging diamond interchange, adding an auxiliary lane on northbound and southbound I-75, constructing new bridges on I-75 over University Parkway, widening of University Parkway, widening of I-75 bridges over Errie Creek and Foley Creek, realignment of on-ramps and off-ramps at I-75/University Parkway, addition of ponds, drainage improvements, new lighting and signalization, construction of a noise wall on the west side of I-75, sidewalks, bike lanes, and pedestrian walkways. The contractor anticipates implementing a temporary detour route at the I-75/University Parkway interchange at night/overnight Sunday, February 26 and Monday, February 27 between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. while crews mill and pave the ramp.
Motorists traveling south on I-75 wishing to travel on University Parkway are directed to continue south on I-75, exit at eastbound Fruitville Road, enter northbound I-75, and exit at University Parkway/Exit 213.

I-75 from south of Harborview Road (mile marker 167) to Sumter Boulevard (mile marker 182): Construction project: This project widens the road from four to six lanes and adds a 12-foot travel lane and 10-foot shoulder to the inside of existing northbound and southbound I-75.
- Motorists should expect lane closures on I-75 during nighttime/overnight hours from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the duration of the construction.
- Motorists should also expect periodic travel lane shifts through the duration of construction.
- Motorists should expect the inside northbound lane on the bridge over the Peace River closed through the duration of the project.
- Toledo Blade Boulevard will be reduced to one lane during nighttime/overnight hours from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday, February 20 and will continue for three weeks.
- I-75 northbound off ramp to Toledo Blade Boulevard will be closed during nighttime/overnight from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21 and Wednesday, February 22.
Variable message signs will be in place to alert drivers that work is underway. Drivers should use caution while traveling in this area. Estimated completion is end of 2017. The contractor is Astaldi Construction Corporation.

US 41/Venice By-Pass from Gulf Coast Boulevard to Bird Bay Drive: Construction project: Crews continue installing utility and storm drain systems and constructing temporary pavement. Expect intermittent nighttime/overnight northbound and southbound lane closures from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. throughout the project limits while crews are working.
Southbound Traffic Shift: Traffic on southbound US 41 from Bird Bay to Warfield Road will shift to the newly constructed lanes along the west side of the road during the nighttime/overnight hours on Sunday, February 19. Use caution and pay close attention while driving throughout the project limits.
Northbound Traffic Shift: Traffic on northbound US 41 from Ridgewood to Bird Bay will shift to the newly constructed lanes along the west side of the road during the nighttime/overnight hours on Monday, February 20. Use caution and pay close attention while driving throughout the project limits.
Motorists should be mindful of the construction signs in place and traffic control officers and use caution while traveling through the project area. Bergeron Land Development is the contractor. Expected completion is spring 2018.

POLK COUNTY
I-4 from the east end of the Polk Parkway to the Osceola County line: Construction project: Watch for eastbound lane closures at night/overnight from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., Wednesday, February 8, while crews continue removing and replacing two overhead DMS (dynamic message signs) approximately one mile east of SR 570 (Polk Parkway), Exit 41, and just east of CR 557/Lake Alfred, Exit 48. This work began Tuesday, February 7, but was postponed due to rain. Plan for potential delays and remember speeding fines double when workers are present.
Crews also postponed westbound sign replacement and lane closures originally scheduled for tonight until nighttime/overnight Tuesday, February 14.
Improvements under this contract include installing wind, precipitation, visibility and atmospheric sensors, thermal infrared cameras, flashing beacon signs and replacing the amber dynamic message signs with full-color dynamic message signs. Expected completion is fall 2017. The contractor is Transcore ITS.

State Road 60 east of Stembridge Road: Emergency Repair: Crews have closed the westbound lanes of State Road 60 east of Stembridge Road due to a depression in the roadway resulting from a jack and bore operation. Both westbound and eastbound traffic reduces to one lane in each direction and shifts onto the existing eastbound lanes. Motorists should expect the reduced lanes and traffic shift to last until afternoon on Friday, February 3. Crews will schedule additional asphalt repairs later. Use caution, watch for changes in the traffic pattern and expect some delays.
