Florida Gubernatorial Candidate campaign spend during the month of July (up to the 15th) reached $15.6 million. Out the of expenditures, 92% was spent on advertising. Following ad dollars, the second highest spend category was consulting.

Progress Florida and other reproductive rights advocates presented petitions signed by more than 5,500 Floridians to Gov. Rick Scott and Dr. Celeste Philip, Surgeon General and Secretary of the Florida Department of Health (DOH). Women’s health advocates adamantly oppose the $4,000,000 annual appropriation that was passed by anti-abortion legislators and signed into law by Gov. Rick Scott this past legislative session. Attorney General Bondi and DEA Shut Down Pill Mill

Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Miami Field Division today arrested a doctor and two office managers on charges related to operating a pill mill. According to a lengthy undercover investigation, Dr. Armando Falcon owned and operated Pain Center of Cutler Bay, a pain management clinic in South Florida, as a cover to illegally sell large quantities of prescription painkillers. Snapper Season 2018

Congressman John Rutherford (FL-04) announces the dates for a limited opening of recreational and commercial red snapper seasons in South Atlantic federal waters. This season is a result of the National Marine Fisheries Service’s approval of the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council’s Amendment 43, which authorized a 2018 red snapper season after a recent study showed an increase in the red snapper population.
