As part of an effort to improve lighting and signage at several interchanges along Interstate 95 (I-95), the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has scheduled several ramp closures at the I-95 interchanges with U.S. 1 (Exit 273), Old Dixie Highway (Exit 278), State Road (S.R.) 100 (Exit 284), and Palm Coast Parkway (Exit 289) during the next two weeks. Governor Ron DeSantis Announces the Appointment of Ron Bergeron to the South Florida Water Management District Board

Governor Ron DeSantis today announced the appointment of Ronald M. “Alligator Ron” Bergeron to the board of the South Florida Water Management District. The appointment comes after the Florida Commission on Ethics voted 8-0 to adopt an advisory opinion allowing Bergeron to join the board.

“I am pleased the Florida Commission on Ethics reached a conclusion on this matter and I am happy Ron will be joining the board,” said Governor DeSantis. “He has devoted his life to the protection and restoration of our Everglades and water resources. I look forward to his leadership and the contributions he will bring to the district.”

Ronald M. Bergeron
Bergeron, 75, is the Founder and CEO of Bergeron Family of Companies. Bergeron started his first business, Bergeron Land Development, in 1965 and he is now one of the most successful and largest site development and roadway contractors in the state of Florida. In addition to his entrepreneurial efforts overseeing more than 40 successful companies, “Alligator Ron,” as he is known throughout Florida, has devoted considerable time and resources to protecting Florida’s wildlife and conservation efforts of the Florida Everglades. He has served two five-year terms as a board member of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
