Gov. Scott: DCF to Redirect Funds, File Budget Amendment for Homelessness Prevention Services
Governor Rick Scott today directed the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) to file a budget amendment to redirect funding for homelessness prevention services. U.S. 92 Closures Scheduled for Tonight in Daytona
Both directions of U.S. 92 will be closed tonight night between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. as will the Interstate 4 (I-4) eastbound to Interstate 95 (I-95) southbound ramp for work activities. No detours are scheduled July 4-7 in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.
Detours will be well marked. Travelers are advised to slow down, and follow the detour signs through construction zones. Posted detours are:
I-4 eastbound to I-95 southbound ramp closure
- Take I-4 exit 129 towards U.S. 92 (International Speedway Boulevard)
U.S. 92 closure
- I-95 southbound to U.S. 92 eastbound: Take exit 260A towards State Road 400 (Beville Road) to Williamson Boulevard
- U.S. 92 eastbound traffic: Take Tomoka Farms Road, Bellevue Avenue, Williamson Boulevard
- I-95 northbound to U.S. 92 westbound and U.S. 92 westbound traffic: Take Williamson Boulevard, Bellevue Avenue, Tomoka Farms Road
Please note construction schedules may change due to weather or other circumstances, and if this happens, the closures may be rescheduled.

Florida Lottery celebrates end of fiscal year with record sales and contributions to education
The Florida Lottery announces another record-breaking sales year with more than $6.7 billion in annual sales for fiscal year 2017-18. As a result, the Lottery anticipates more than $1.7 billion in contributions to the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF), shattering all previous fiscal year transfer records.
“Education is our number one priority, and we are proud of this milestone moment,” said Secretary Jim Poppell. “We are thankful to Governor Scott for his leadership, our retail partners, loyal players and dedicated employees who are committed to making a difference in the lives of Florida’s students and their families.”
Over the past 30 years, the Florida Lottery has firmly established itself as a dependable funding source to enhance public education, contributing more than $33 billion in total. The Lottery has transferred more than $1 billion annually for each of the past 16 consecutive fiscal years. Lottery transfers to education represent approximately six percent of the state’s total education budget, and are appropriated by the Florida Legislature and administered by the Florida Department of Education.
