Traffic to be Diverted off Westbound I-4 near Florida’s Turnpike on Nights of July 13, 16, 17 & 18
To complete demolition of a recently replaced overpass near Florida’s Turnpike, I-4 Ultimate crews will be diverting traffic off westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. on July 13, 16, 17 and 18.
Motorists will exit westbound I-4 at Conroy Road (Exit 78) and use either Vineland Road or Conroy Road to reenter westbound I-4 at the Kirkman Road (State Road 435) interchange.
In addition to diverting westbound I-4 traffic the exit ramps to Florida’s Turnpike (Exit 77) and northbound (75B) and southbound (75A) Kirkman Road (State Road 435), and the on-ramps from Conroy Road and Florida’s Turnpike will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on the nights of July 12–13, 15–16, 16–17 and 17–18.

Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.
The I-4 Ultimate project is rebuilding 21 miles of Interstate 4 (I-4) from west of Kirkman Road in Orange County to east of State Road 434 in Seminole County, adding two new dynamic tolled Express Lanes in each direction, replacing more than 140 bridges, reconfiguring 15 major interchanges and reconstructing the entire roadway.

Double Lane Shift Planned for John Young Parkway in Orlando
On Saturday, June 9, motorists can expect a temporary traffic shift for northbound lanes on State Road (S.R.) 423/John Young Parkway in Orlando.
From about 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., both northbound lanes just north of Silver Star Road will be shifted toward the median to allow the contractor to complete a pipe crossing under John Young Parkway.
Electronic message boards and other signage will be used to direct traffic. Motorists should exercise extra caution when driving through the work zone.
The work is part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project to widen S.R. 423/John Young Parkway from S.R. 50/West Colonial Drive to Shader Road. Please note constructionschedules may change due to weather or other unforeseen events.

Public Feedback Opportunity on S.R. 551/Goldenrod Road Improvements in Orlando
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is hosting a public hearing regarding plans for implementing safety improvements along State Road (S.R.) 551/Goldenrod Road between S.R. 408 and S.R. 50/East Colonial Drive in Orlando. The hearing is next Tuesday, May 29, at the Orlando Baptist Church, 500 South Semoran Boulevard.
The hearing will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with a presentation at 6 p.m., followed by a public comment period. The purpose of this public hearing is to receive public input from the local community about the proposed safety improvements which include milling and resurfacing, construction of a raised median, turn lane improvements, widening for bike lanes, and traffic signal improvements along S.R. 551 (Goldenrod Road) between S.R. 408 and S.R. 50. FDOT staff will be available to answer questions. This is an access management public hearing and will include information about the access classification change planned within the project limits. A certified court reporter will be present to collect and document comments for the project record.

Traffic Shift Along John Young Parkway in Orlando
During the week of April 22, a traffic pattern change is expected on State Road (S.R.) 423/John Young Parkway between S.R. 50/West Colonial Drive and Shader Road. The work is part of the department’s widening project.
The traffic shift will affect northbound traffic. Initially, traffic between Technology Drive and Silver Star Road will be shifted west onto the existing southbound lanes. Once past Silver Star Road, northbound traffic will move back east onto the newly constructed temporary pavement until it transitions back to the existing configuration at Shader Road.
Electronic message boards and other signage will be used to direct traffic. Motorists are asked to be prepared for the changes and exercise extra caution when driving through the work zone.

Orlando man arrested, charged with 6 counts of child pornography
Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Orlando Cybercrime Task Force today arrested Carlos Rodriguez-Fernandez, 47, of 5509 Bryson Drive, Orlando, on 6 counts of possession of child pornography.
During an investigation of files suspected of child pornography, agents discovered an IP address in March advertising hundreds of files of known or suspected child pornography. Agents determined the IP address was associated with the Bryson Drive address where Rodriguez-Fernandez resides. During the execution of a search warrant, agents conducted a forensic preview of digital devices and found evidence of child pornography.
Rodriguez-Fernandez was taken to the Orange County Jail on a no-bond status. The case will be prosecuted by the State Attorney’s Office, 9th Judicial Circuit.
