Diaz Earns Fraternal Order of Police Support

The law enforcement group is backing Manny Diaz’s bid for Florida Senate District 36.

The Manny Diaz Campaign today announced the endorsement of the Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police (FOP). The FOP strives to promote law and order in addition to fostering unity among law enforcement officers in the state of Florida. Diaz is seeking the District 36 seat in the Florida Senate. Donalds Cruises to Straw Poll Victory

Byron Donalds handily defeated his challengers in the
Florida House District 80 straw poll held yesterday.

The Byron Donalds Campaign today announced his victory yesterday in the Politics in the Park straw poll held at the Naples Area Board of Realtors. Child pool and spa deaths in Florida continue to rise:

  • Child pool and spa deaths in the state increased by 20 percent from 2016 to 2017 
  • Florida is number one for child pool and spa deaths, with a total of 51 deaths in 2017
  • 80 percent of the deaths in 2017 involved children under the age of 5
  • More than 90 percent of Florida’s home swimming pools were built before Florida’s Residential Swimming Pool Safety Act took effect, which includes requirements for safety pool covers and barriers that surround the pool
  • Drowning is the leading cause of deaths of young children in Florida
