Gov. Scott: Florida’s Graduation Rate Hits All-Time High

Governor Rick Scott announced that Florida’s high school graduation rate has reached a 15-year high according to data released today by the Florida Department of Education. For the 2017-18 school year, Florida’s statewide graduation rate rose to 86.1 percent, an increase of 3.8 percentage points over last year and 17.1 since the school year before Governor Scott took office. REBUILD 850 and Operation Santa to spread holiday cheer in Florida’s Panhandle

Former Congresswoman and REBUILD 850 Co-Chair Gwen Graham is partnering with Bay County’s Operation Santa to distribute toys collected by the REBUILD 850 initiative to families impacted by Hurricane Michael. Graham will be in Panama City on Monday morning, December 17, to hand out the items, after a Tallahassee toy drive collected a truckload of toys for the initiative earlier this month. The Florida Education Foundation today awarded nine panhandle school districts who were hit hardest by Hurricane Michael a literacy grant that will enable them to re-stock their libraries and classrooms.
